Supporters are at the heart of Greenpeace and how we fund our important work. As a Donor Growth & Acquisition Specialist, you will take a leading role in bringing in new one-time and monthly donors to Greenpeace Canada.

As a member of our fundraising team, you will work together with colleagues, freelancers and agency partners to achieve ambitious donor acquisition and revenue targets. You will identify and develop strong support cases and fundraising appeals that show how people can contribute to a better future with Greenpeace and inspire them to give generously. By working together within campaign teams, you will help develop impactful campaigns with strong fundraising potential.

As the primary relationship manager for Greenpeace Canada’s telemarketing and face-to-face agency partners, you’ll know how to build trusted, stable partnerships and motivate teams to do their best work. You’ll also pay close attention to detail when setting up email marketing campaigns, reviewing reports, and preparing budgets.

The ideal candidate will have experience with individual giving and donor recruitment and/or email marketing and supporter communications.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify fundraising opportunities within Greenpeace campaigns and work with colleagues and campaign teams to develop campaigns with high fundraising potential.
  • Work with the Donor Growth & Marketing Team to plan themes for digital fundraising campaigns, research and develop copywriting briefs, coordinate copywriting, signing and translation.
  • Create, test and send email marketing campaigns to Greenpeace supporters and donors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for telemarketing and face-to-face partners.
  • Together with the Director of Fundraising and the Head of Marketing and Donor Growth, you will develop budgets, goals and plans for recruiting, retaining, upgrading and reactivating monthly and one-time donors through multiple direct marketing channels including in-person canvassing, telemarketing and digital marketing.
  • Coordinate payment processes for the monthly giving program. Regularly monitor results and work with agency partners on strategies to correct course and improve as needed.
  • Set up and manage the calendar and territory selection for all monthly donation related activities. Work with agency partners to ensure campaigns are launched on time and deadlines are met.
  • Work with the data team to establish selection criteria for telemarketing programs (related to monthly donations) and ensure timely delivery of data to agency partners. Work with the data team to establish and maintain data processes and ensure agency partners follow them.
  • Create and update regularly all scripts, support cases, briefing materials and Q&As for telemarketing and face-to-face agency partners. Coordinate the creation of acknowledgement letters for all monthly donation collection campaigns.
  • Monitor campaign performance, including retention and long-term value of monthly supporters. Ensure canvassers and callers are informed by listening to call recordings, conducting mystery shopping, and regular check-ins with the Supporter Care Team. Work with agency partners to quickly address misinformation or complaints.
  • Manage the telemarketing portion of the lead conversion program and work with the Donor Growth & Marketing Team to develop overall strategy and ensure telemarketing partners are provided with a consistent source of qualified leads.
  • Contribute to, participate in and lead integrated campaign and project teams as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required skills and experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant work or volunteer experience in fundraising, sales, digital marketing or a similar/related field.
  • Knowledge of and experience with CRM and email marketing software such as HubSpot.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic online environment, manage multiple projects and competing priorities, and keep others on track to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use data and insights to inform future decisions, ability to work with Excel and Google spreadsheets to make calculations.
  • You must be an excellent communicator, a great team player and be committed to a culture of excellence and innovation by actively sharing knowledge and striving for continuous improvement.
  • General knowledge of environmental and social justice issues and knowledge of the general goals and purposes of Greenpeace are required.
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English is required; knowledge of French is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of First Nations, Inuit and Métis languages ​​is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of other languages ​​that reflect the diversity of Canada’s many communities is also highly desirable.

Candidates must understand and support Greenpeace’s campaign tactics, including the use of peaceful civil disobedience.
