This has been the absolute most dehumanizing job market I’ve ever had to deal with in my life. I am a marketing professional with over 5 years of experience and I’ve never had a harder time finding a job than the last 2 years. I now have over 3 jobs where I went through 3+ rounds of interviews and usually an hour long (or more) assignment as well and they have all rejected me at the end. My most recent one was for a role that was supposed to be focused entirely on paid social and at the end they chose someone who had paid search experience as well which WASNT in the job description. I am absolutely beyond the end of my rope. I was even thinking of taking a step back and going into serving but at this interview at a restaurant the guy told me how there were over 200 applicants to the job. How are we supposed to survive this. And it’s even more degrading that the news doesn’t seem to recognize anything is going on at all.
